Melrose House is one of the last surviving ‘grand’ homes of Nelson, New Zealand. Situated close to the Nelson city centre in a private and spacious garden, the House displays characteristic Victorian grandeur with polished native rimu timber floors. Extensive sheltered and private gardens surround the House and historic specimen trees and shrubs provide interest through the seasons. A self tour garden map is available to visitors.

Melrose House is used for boutique weddings, meetings, cocktail parties, literary and musical events, birthdays, wakes and other special occasions. There is free on site car parking and Melrose House Café provide elegant dining, coffee and cake, high teas, and gourmet catering by arrangement.

The Drawing Room with its polished floors and sparkling chandeliers provides space for up to 40 guests at tables or 100 for cocktails, whilst the House and extensive gardens offer a variety of photograph opportunities to provide a lifetime of memories of your special day. Free parking is available on site and there is overflow parking in neighbouring streets.

Situated upstairs, the traditional board table seats up to 13 persons. The Boardroom this quiet room seats 8 persons comfortably for a meeting and can be used as a breakout room when hiring The Boardroom.
